Hi, I’m Ayshah!

Why did I become a speech pathologist?
From a young age, I was drawn to the healthcare field, especially in the field of disability support. Fifteen years ago I dedicated my time to volunteering in disability support and took roles in the early childhood sector. The path to Speech Pathology seemed like a natural progression for me, understanding the significance of providing individuals with the means to express themselves. It is not just a profession for me; it is a passion.
What’s the thing I enjoy the most about my job?
Building deep connections with clients and their families is truly rewarding for me. I cherish the bonds formed over shared experiences and enjoy the opportunity to understand them on a personal level. This not only enables me to create a plan tailored specifically to their unique needs and dynamics but also enriches our journey together. My greatest joy stems from working with clients and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Having relocated here without family and experienced the challenges of navigating life in a new country, I resonate with their experiences. This personal familiarity equips me to empathize deeply with families from different cultural backgrounds, ensuring that their voices are heard and that they’re well-informed every step of the way.
What are some interesting facts about me?
I am fluent in both English and Arabic (reading and writing), I love playing chess, trying new foods, refining my sign language skills and going on walks with my dog.
